St Kilda Charmer
This St Kilda heritage property had been divided by a developer into two homes, the result was a Victorian residence with excellent “bones”, but dark and lacking vitality. Joining forces with interior designer Sarah Newbold, we collaborated to create a Lifestage Design™ home; elegant and genuinely sympathetic to the heritage features which had initially drawn our client to the property. Offering the refinement and flexibility to work beautifully for a lifetime; this home works for an older couple, a young family or one in the midst of growing teens.
An imaginative revamp of the kitchen, living room, outside entertaining and service corridor epitomises the Lifestage Design™ principles of timeless aesthetics and smart ideas. Beautiful furniture and appointments, fine joinery and creative lighting complement the interior design to the living spaces reoriented to open up to the outdoors. Skylights transform the previously dark, uninviting living room into a light-filled heart of the home. Bespoke bookcases flanking the fireplace proudly display the client’s collection of artwork and books, perfectly underlining the grandeur of the room. Clever rethinking of the existing floorplan avoided dramatic structural changes and meant we could manage this renovation so that the family did not need to move out.
