Domain Views

With sensational views of Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens, this Domain Road apartment has an enviable location, however the clunky floorplan felt disjointed and some living areas were cut off from the views. Our clients, the new owners, were keen to maximise the garden vistas and to update the interiors and services. One of the first issues we considered was how to unify the space and create the calm, refined mood befitting the location.
Reworking the ceiling heights to make them consistent throughout the apartment and reorienting the kitchen were key steps to improving spatial flow and integration. The kitchen is now the heart of the apartment and a perfect hub for entertaining. We included features that make cooking a pleasure; an extra long bench means two cooks can both share the cooking and entertaining, while messy zones are hidden away. The result is a soundproof, light-filled apartment with a sophisticated palette.
