Cressy St House

This holiday home, set on Wadawurrung Country beside Barwon Heads Golf Club, balances expansive gestures with a quiet, grounded presence. While it captures ocean views and unfolds across multiple levels, the design remains simple and understated, sitting gently within the landscape.
Natural, tactile materials, particularly rammed earth, create a strong connection to place, while references to local beach houses inform the broader material palette. The fluid roofline draws from the surrounding environment, echoing the soft undulations of the fairways, bunkers, and nearby surf.
Designed in close collaboration with the owners, the home is highly tailored and reflects their lifestyle in both layout and interior selections. A series of decks and layered roof forms respond to a significant Moonah tree on site, creating elevated spaces that hint at a subtle treehouse experience while framing views to the ocean.
