Armadale House
This transformation was about making a large family home work beautifully for the way the family lives today. The focus was on creating a home that felt connected, practical and welcoming, while bringing a fresh sense of character and purpose to the existing spaces.Together, we looked closely at their lifestyle, tastes and vision for the home, then brought our own ideas and experience to the conversation. The result was a thoughtful reworking of the kitchen, dining and living spaces, creating a space for cooking, gathering and spending time together. The work was carefully planned across four stages, allowing the family to remain at home throughout the transformation.
At the focus of the project is the kitchen. Reoriented towards the garden, it now connects naturally with the outdoors and feels equally at home during a quiet family breakfast or a long lunch with friends. A generous marble island anchors the space, while considered lighting and carefully designed details bring warmth and character.
Everything has been designed to make everyday life easier. Flexible storage, discreet kicker cupboards, easy-to-use handles and self-closing drawers are all small details that make a real difference over time. Bespoke, handcrafted steel windows and doors replace the originals, opening the home to the garden and bringing a sense of permanence to the spaces.
Throughout, we chose materials and finishes that are beautiful yet practical, easy to live with and made to last. The result is a home that feels considered and personal, where every detail has a purpose and the spaces support the way the clients lives.
