Upgrade & Refurbishment

Our brief was to refurbish a compact cafe that serves staff and visitors to the McKellar Centre. This central meeting place needed to be more inviting with a warm and friendly ambience. The update was achieved on a minimal budget for a great result. The cafe is part of an ongoing program to improve the patient/visitor experience, staff wellbeing, and to create a welcoming, contemporary aesthetic. We introduced biophilic elements into the cafe, with a colour palette reflecting the local landscape and bay location, timber finishes, textured fabrics and ample natural light. We rearranged the space and flow to make it more appealing, with a central seating zone for informal chat and a friendly, inviting vibe. To make the cafe function more efficiently, we opened up the services areas.
